Hydrogen Sulfide Scavenger HS-100
DESCRIPTION
Hydrogen sulfide is highly flammable, toxic when inhaled, and strongly irritates the eyes and other mucous membranes. The presence of H2S in gas or liquid streams presents many environmental and safety concerns. The problem of removing or reducing H2S from hydrocarbon or aqueous substrates can be solved by using H2S scavenger (HS-100).
Experiments show that the H2S scavenger HS-100 may be used to treat aqueous or hydrocarbon substrates that are rendered "sour" by the presence of sulfhydryl compounds, such as H2S, mercaptans, thiols carboxylic acid. Its typical properties are:
Form Colorless to pale yellow liquid
Specific Gravity 1.0 -1.2
pH (1%) 6.0 - 10.0
Solubility: In water Soluble
In 15%-28%HCl: Soluble
GENERIC DESCRIPTION
HS-100 is a blend of compounds having hydroxyalkyl, functionality and alkylamine functionality. This scavenger has high capacity for H2S in high temperature up to 150ºC. It can achieve selective, irreversible removal of H2S and other sulfhydryl compounds from aqueous or hydrocarbon substrates.
APPLICATION
HS-100 is recommended for use in all concentrations of HCl and HCl/HF (mud acid) mixtures. The common dosage for this scavenger HS-100 is 1.5 -2.0 times of that the sulfhydryl compounds.
More important, the amount of HS-100 varies with the H2S content of the operation system, and the mass ratio of H2S scavenger and hydrogen sulfide (theoretical value) is 2.5g:1g.
RECOMMENDED TREATMENT
HS-100 is soluble in both acid and water and can be added at almost any stage in the mixing process. The following sequence may be used as a Guide.
• Put required water in tank.
• Add HS-100.
• Add corrosion inhibitor , sludge suspending agent , iron stabilizer , clay stabilizer and
other additives, etc.
• Mix thoroughly.
• Add required concentrated acid.
• Mix thoroughly.
HANDLING AND PACKAGING
Observe warning labels on containers. Normal precautions for industrial chemicals apply. HS-100 is available in 200kg drums.
